Gulkarmat Agency Assists Gudang Peluru Incident

Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue (Gulkarmat) Agency deployed to extinguish fire at Gudang Peluru Ciangsana, Bogor Regency, West Java.

Two of them were DOK-ING and LUF 60 robots

Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Agency Head, Satriadi Gunawan, said his side deployed 75 personnel and 15 firetrucks to the scene, Saturday (3/30) night.

"Two of them were DOK-ING and LUF 60 robots to assist extinguishing fire," he said, Monday (4/1).

Fire in Gedong Successfully Extinguished

He added that his side applied anticipation by spraying parts of the building to avoid fire burning it.

"The robots were focused on the impacted building," he added.

According to him, the robots were deployed to minimize the risk for personnel.

"The robotic units were driven by the operator using remote control from a distance of around 500 meters and was protected by embankments. It needed special handling to enter the warehouse," he continued.

He explained that the robots were also equipped with thermal sensor to locate the fire.

"Personnel will enter the area if it was declared safe by the robots," he explained.

The involvement of the fleet and personnel of the Jakarta Gulkarmat Agency to help extinguish the fire at the Ciangsana Bullet Warehouse was a direct order from the TNI Commander because he saw the conditions in different and special locations.

"Thankfully the agency has robotic unit to handle special case like this," he stated.

The extinguishing process at the Ciangsana Bullet warehouse used a spray technique or did not use water directly, so that the water became small droplets. Then, it also used special foam.

The cooling process was run on Sunday (3/31) at 2:41 AM.

"The extinguishing was completed at 8:49 AM. Bogor Bekasi Fire Handling Agencies personnel were remain at the scene to monitor the situation," he said.
